The Seedlings

The seedlings were started a few weeks ago. As you can see, they are moving right along and are almost ready to be transplanted to individual pots in a few days. So far, we have tomatoes and peppers started in our grow room. The soil is kept warm by electric blankets placed under the planting trays. Around August, the ripened tomatoes will be canned in the mason jars you can see stacked up in the photo above. As for the garden....well right now it is mostly mud as we have had over four inches of rain in the last week. The early spring veggies are looking good. We have arugula, assorted lettuces, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and onions that are very healthy. The russet and yukon gold potatoes were planted three weeks ago and have yet to start coming up. It feels great to be in full garden mode. More to come.
